Highlighted text missing from excerpts

Hi guys,
Just discovered that any text within [highlight] tags in a post is excluded from that post's excerpt, which made the excerpts on my blog's front page very confusing and unreadable. I un-highlihgted everything for now. Can this be fixed in the next update?
